A stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked or ruptured. It is the third leading cause of death in the United States and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability in adults. Stroke can happen to anyone at any time—regardless of race, sex, or even age.
Physical therapists are part of the stroke rehabilitation team. Rehabilitation begins very soon after a stroke and your physical therapist’s main goal is to help you return to your activities at home, at work, and in your community.
In many cases, you do not need a referral to start physical therapy. Give our office a call to get started.
